Bonds out of WBC

Bonds has quit the team, citing it would not be a wise decision, that could jeopardize the 2006 season.

I cant blame him, I dont know if his body will make it from april to october, let alone adding another month in. Its going to be an uphill battle for him to get to 755. He still has the same bat speed and sweet stroke, the same eye hand coordination, but his legs are falling apart quickly. I wish he were a DH, he could play another 10 years with that stroke.

I think with the departure of J.T. Snow the Giants need to make him a 1st basemen.

It makes sense but they want to get Niekro as much PT as possible so I doubt it will ever happen.

Yeah he said he didnt like the idea, he said he respects JT alot for being so good and said that he thinks he himself would suck at 1st.

I thought so, I respect Bonds, but I do not like the man, there is no doubt in my mind he used steroids even though he was never caught by MLB. I was looking through my baseball cards this past christmas at my moms and found his 87 card, he was a stick figure compared to what he is today. I know if you work out hard enough you can put on some muscle mass, just not as much as he put on. Now having said that, steroids does not help you hit the ball, and what has been missed in all his hitting stats is the fact the man was a great outfielder, I dont know exactly how many gold gloves he has, but he was known for his fielding abilities before he started hitting homeruns at a record breaking pace. No matter what, Bonds should be in the Hall of Fame when he retires, but then again I think Pete Rose should be in the Hall as well.

It doesnt look like it, this is from January 21st. Thats Juan Marichal on the right. Bonds was talking about losing some weight to help his knees out this offsaeson, but it doesnt look like its going to happen.
